Bimby Aquino hopes youth will learn more about late grandfather Ninoy Aquino

On the 43rd death anniversary of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., Bimby Aquino, one of his grandchildren, expressed hope that the younger generation would learn more about the late senator and his legacy through research.
Bimby joined the Aquino family as well as relatives and friends for a Mass at Ninoy’s tomb at the Manila Memorial Park on Friday, Aug. 21.
During the gathering, Bimby addressed young people who, like him, were not yet born when Ninoy was alive and hoped that they would also take time to learn about him.

“Research po. There’s a lot of videos of Lolo on YouTube. You’ll really get to know him as a person,” Bimby said. “We never had a conversation with him. But just research and trust reliable sources.”

Bimby’s cousin, Francis Joseph “Kiko” Aquino Dee, also noted, “We’re learning about him the same way most Filipinos do. Hindi namin siya naabutan. So, we hope that people can get to know him the way we did.”
Then asked what he would want to say to Ninoy if he could speak to him, Bimby said, “Words cannot express the amount of things I want to say to him. But [I would say] thank you, thank you for doing what he did for our country and for being a good dad to my mom and to my titas and Tito Noy.”
Bimby’s mom, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, was not present at the event as she was experiencing body aches, as per the young actor-TV host.
