MTN ADVERT

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the promotion of 7,472 personnel comprising 2,134 Officers and 5,338 Marshals, in a major career progression exercise designed to reward merit, strengthen professionalism and inject renewed energy into the Corps’ leadership and operational structure.

The promotion, which forms part of the Corps’ continuing commitment to human capital development, recognises the dedication, competence, discipline and years of service of personnel who have distinguished themselves in the discharge of their responsibilities to the nation. The elevation of the affected personnel is therefore not merely a change in rank, but a renewed call to greater responsibility, higher standards and more impactful service to the Nigerian motoring public.

Under the new arrangement, Heads of Departments, Corps Officers, Heads of Special Units and Commanding Officers have been directed to decorate the newly promoted personnel under their respective commands from Wednesday, 26 August to Friday, 28 August 2026, in accordance with the Administrative Instruction on the Decoration of Newly Promoted Officers and Marshals.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, described the promotion as both a reward and a responsibility, stressing that every new rank must translate into a higher level of professionalism, accountability, leadership and service delivery.

According to him, the strength of FRSC is not measured only by its patrol vehicles, technology or enforcement architecture, but fundamentally by the quality, character and commitment of the men and women who stand between road users and the consequences of unsafe road behaviour.

He congratulated the newly promoted personnel and charged them to see their elevation as a mandate to do more, lead better and serve with greater distinction, reminding them that every additional stripe, pip or insignia represents increased expectations from the Corps, the Federal Government and the Nigerian people.

The Corps Marshal further emphasised that promotion in FRSC must continue to serve as an instrument for building a professional, responsive and performance-driven institution capable of meeting the evolving demands of road safety management in Nigeria.

He urged the newly promoted Officers and Marshals to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating discipline on and off the road, treating members of the public with dignity, upholding the integrity of the Corps and remaining uncompromising in the pursuit of safer roads.

The promotion also comes at a time when the Corps is intensifying its operational, technological and public enlightenment interventions towards reducing road traffic crashes and improving compliance with traffic regulations nationwide. The Corps views a motivated and professionally developed workforce as central to sustaining these interventions and delivering measurable improvements in road safety outcomes.

The newly promoted personnel are expected to carry their new responsibilities with renewed purpose and to remember that, in the FRSC, rank is not merely worn, it is earned, entrusted and ultimately measured by service.
The Corps congratulates all the promoted Officers and Marshals and wishes them greater success as they assume their new responsibilities in service to the nation.
