Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye Game Officially Takes Fans Back To The Beginning

The Transformers franchise really does lay down the blueprint for just how to remain relevant across as many mediums as possible, and releases continue to come along all the time that secure that legacy even further. While television and movie adaptations will always remain the most impactful, physical releases really aren't too far behind as the overall product line continues to expand exponentially.

At the same time, the comic book series is still going strong, and that's probably the best regular source of new stories and lore within the same universe right now. That said, there is yet another product on the way that will likely only appeal to the most dedicated fans of the franchise, and even then, only those with plenty of disposable income will be able to pick one up for themselves.

Over on YouTube, you should be able to find the reveal trailer for the Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye pinball machine, a new full size table from Stern Pinball that really does have every imaginable bell and whistle. In sharing a little with fans about everything they can expect from their latest creation, the manufacturer posted the following description:

"Experience the legendary battle between Autobots and Decepticons like never before! In TRANSFORMERS: More Than Meets the Eye, players join Optimus Prime and the Autobots in their mission to stop Megatron and the Decepticons from stealing Earth’s energy, conquering Cybertron, and dominating the universe.

"An animatronic Megatron is ready for battle, with an articulated fusion cannon that rotates and fires pinballs back at players. Watchout as Soundwave’s cassette deck locks pinballs before launching them into high-intensity action. Store Energon Cubes to power up, team up with the Dinobots, collect Transformers Tech Spec cards, and prepare for a climactic battle against Megatron."

The number of physical, animated models employed in the machine really is to be commended, and it's a pinball machine that's so packed with goodies, that it's genuinely quite hard to imagine how it can be topped without the game becoming too chaotic.

The only potential caveat to all of us having one in our own homes is the cost of the finished table. Make no mistake, this is absolutely a premium product, but the $7000 price tag will likely prove to be an impossible hurdle to overcome for many.

If the pinball machine is a little out of your price range, there's still plenty of fun stuff to look forward to as a Transformers fan. Hasbro's new in-house publishing label supposedly has several video game projects in the works (the details of which are yet to emerge), and there's also a new film in the works that supposedly aims to restore the level of hype surrounding the franchise when the first Shia Labeouf-led effort debuted in theaters.
