Yanks place Grisham on IL with hamstring strain
The New York Yankees placed center fielder Trent Grisham on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain on Saturday.
Grisham left the Yankees' 3-2, 10-inning loss Friday night against the San Diego Padres due to right hamstring discomfort.
Grisham drew a walk from Walker Buehler leading off the second inning and was thrown out trying to steal second base. He was taken out after the top of the third.
Grisham is hitting .211 with 18 homers and 59 RBIs. He played for the Padres from 2020 through 2023 before being traded to the Yankees along with Juan Soto in a seven-player blockbuster Dec. 7, 2023.
