EastEnders' Jack issues deadly threat against Craig in missing Amy drama

Translate

EastEnders’ Jack Branning has made a deadly threat against Craig Ingram, after his daughter Amy Mitchell was confirmed to have gone missing with his former colleague. Teenager Amy is being groomed by Craig, and the pair have decided to run away and start a new life together.

To do this, Amy attempted to access her trust fund money early and as one of the trustees, Max agreed to sign the forms to release the cash to his niece – with Amy offering to lend him the £50,000 he needs to pay off Cindy’s blackmail.

Max planned to get the money then expose this inappropriate relationship, so he told Jack about Amy and Craig – but the Branning brothers were too late to stop the pair fleeing Walford.

In today’s episode, Jack was unable to get in touch with Amy so phoned his police colleague. But at that moment, Denise returned home from hospital so Jack made sure to keep her in the dark about this situation.

DCI Ludgrove called round and explained that they’d put a trace out on Amy’s phone and cards and an alert out on Craig’s car, with cameras covering every route they could take.

He urged Jack to stay put as he is too close to the case and needs to be at home in case Amy comes back. Max was asked questions about what he knows, but he decided to stay quiet.

Meanwhile, Denise’s loved ones vowed to keep Amy’s disappearance from her, but Denise stumbled upon their discussion and grew suspicious that they were hiding something.

Across the Square, Lily and Ricky were disturbed to learn about the gross misconduct complaints made about Craig – while Max secretly received the £50,000 from Amy.

Lily and Ricky eventually admitted that they know where Craig lives, so Jack ignored the advice of his boss and broke into the flat with Max in tow. As he searched for evidence, Jack was devastated that he hadn’t noticed his daughter being groomed.

Guilty Max was forced to admit that he knows Amy and Craig have money, as he gave Amy access to her trust fund for what she claimed was a college course, leaving Jack furious with his brother.

That evening, Max called round to ask Jack if he’d spoken to the police about freezing Amy’s account. He then suggested reaching out to Phil and his contacts, desperate to get Craig behind bars – but Jack insisted that prison wasn’t the solution.

"There’s only one way out of this," he made clear. "There’s only ever been one way, from the minute he drove off with my daughter. I find him, and when I find him, I get rid of him permanently."

Will Jack track down Amy and Craig, and will he follow through on his threat?

EastEnders has been working on Amy's grooming storyline with support from Barnardo's and End Violence Against Women, with support and information available via their websites.
