Oyebanji hails Remi Tinubu at 66

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday.

Oyebanji said the First Lady’s 66th birthday offered an opportunity to celebrate her virtues, worth, impact and legacies.

The governor, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado Ekiti on Monday, said, “Senator Tinubu has acquitted herself well in her role as the Mother of the Nation and her compassion has given succour and positively changed the lives of many Nigerians since she became First Lady in 2023.”

He described the First Lady as a pillar of support for President Bola Tinubu over the years and in his quest for a better, stronger and more prosperous nation.

The governor also hailed her contributions as “a teacher who contributed to the nation’s manpower development, politician, First Lady of Lagos State, a distinguished senator in the National Assembly and now as the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Oyebanji noted that the First Lady, through her Renewed Hope Initiative, had touched many lives across the country in areas including education, poverty alleviation and the empowerment of vulnerable citizens such as orphans, people with disabilities, the elderly and market men and women.

He said beneficiaries of Senator Tinubu’s initiatives could also be found in Ekiti State, noting that students from the state had benefited from scholarships and laptop computers, while female farmers received financial support and farming inputs.

He added that widows and senior citizens had received foodstuffs, cash grants and other forms of support through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

These, according to him, were in addition to the ICT Centre facilitated for Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, by the First Lady, whom he described as a good friend of Ekiti and a strong supporter of his administration’s development efforts in the state.

The governor noted that Ekiti State had benefited from Senator Tinubu’s “milk of human kindness” through her personal generosity and the platform of her pet project.

He cited her recent visit to the state, during which thousands of traders were empowered, and a state-of-the-art ICT Centre was inaugurated at Ekiti State University under the Renewed Hope Initiative.

Oyebanji prayed to God to spare the First Lady’s life and grant her long life and sound health, wishing her many happy returns of the day on behalf of the government and people of Ekiti State.
