VFX House 22Dogs Launches New Facility at Pinewood Toronto Studios (Exclusive)

22Dogs VFX, the visual effects studio behind work on Apple TV’s The Morning Show and the Netflix heist thriller Here Comes the Flood, has opened a new base in Toronto as its North American headquarters.

The Milan-based international studio, with VFX credits also on Netflix’s Outer Banks, Lionsgate’s Day Drinker and Prime Video’s The Greatest, already has a Los Angeles commercial office in its global footprint. The new North American headquarters at Pinewood Toronto Studios will be the third production studio for 22Dogs VFX after facilities in Milan and Tenerife.

22Dogs VFX joins other global studios in Toronto doing visual effects magic for major studios and streamers chasing digital tax breaks, currency savings and lower labor costs in Ontario. The Pinewood Toronto Studios facility will be led day-to-day by Samara Melanson, head of studio, who will work closely with Andrea Marotti, 22Dogs partner and executive producer, based in the Los Angeles commercial office.

The Los Angeles office will continue working closely with major studios and streamers and international producers, many of which bring film and TV series work to Canada for production and post-production. Pinewood Toronto Studios already serves as a Canadian production hub for Netflix and Amazon MGM Studios.
