All calm at MB-Tunku Nadzaruddin meeting venue

SEREMBAN: Police presence ensured a calm situation at the Tuanku Ja'afar Royal Gallery, where the Negri Sembilan menteri besar and state executive councillors were scheduled to meet Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja'afar.

The meeting was scheduled to begin at 9am. However, as of 9.50am, it had yet to start.

Earlier, State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Dr Awaludin Said, state executive councillors and several assemblymen from Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional were seen arriving at the gallery from 8am.

Also seen arriving was the disputed Undang Luak Jelebu, Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad, although he left shortly after.

It is understood that those involved in the meeting later left and gathered at another location for discussions before the meeting with Tunku Nadzaruddin.

Meanwhile, members of the media had gathered at the venue from 8am, while police personnel were seen guarding the main entrance and the gallery compound.

It is understood that a solidarity gathering for the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir had been scheduled to take place at the same location from 8.30am.

However, no gathering took place at the venue and the situation remained under control.
