East of Swindon: Florence Pugh's parents are selling her idyllic girlhood home in Oxfordshire countryside for £1.65 million

Florence Pugh's parents are to sell the Oxfordshire barn the A-list actress once called home.

Clinton Pugh and Deborah Mackin bought the Grade II-listed former agricultural barn west of Oxford in October 2011 for £950,000.

And it has now gone on the market for £1.65million as the pair consider down-sizing from their current five bedrooms as East of Eden star Florence and one of her sisters have long since moved out.

The rural property, which enjoys far-reaching views of nearby fields, went on sale in September with a number of agents.

One consideration may be that their son, the musician Toby Sebastian, has lived in an annexe in the grounds since they moved in, but recently had a baby with his wife Scarlet Alexandra so may himself want more space for his family.

Florence Pugh has three siblings – vocal coach Arabella Gibbins, 40, Sebastian, 34, and Rafaela, 23.

Rafaela – known as Raffie – is understood to still live at the barn with her parents.

Florence herself has posted many pictures from the home, which has impressive beamed and vaulted ceilings.

Florence has posted many pictures from the home, including this one from 2015 with her family sat on a sofa in the living room

In December 2015, she posted an image of the Pugh family sat on a new sofa in their living room, saying her dad had tickled her just as they captured the pic.

Other images show her with chicks in the garden and with the actress Maisie Williams in the annexe, with whom she starred in her film debut The Falling in 2014.

And others were posted showing family birthday and Christmas celebrations, her brother holding the family cat in the barn's kitchen and a video of Florence, again in the annexe, singing a song with the lyrics 'blah blah blah'.

Meanwhile Toby's Instagram shows Mr Pugh putting up a Christmas tree in the barn, while Clinton himself was pictured in the barn's living areas in April as he showed off his collection of paintings by the artist Sacha Jafri, soon to be included in a charity exhibition.

The Pughs' five-bed, five-bath barn went on sale on Rightmove with agents Knight Frank on September 24 and is described as a 'characterful 17th-century barn conversion with a small holding, set within attractive countryside on the edge of Oxford'.

A statement from the owners went on: 'One of the principal attractions….has always been its unique position.

'The house enjoys far-reaching views across the surrounding countryside while remaining within easy reach of Oxford and its extensive amenities.

'The property offers a genuine country lifestyle. We have enjoyed keeping chickens, maintaining a productive vegetable garden and creating an environment that attracts a wide variety of wildlife.

'The barn itself is wonderfully light and spacious, with double-height ceilings that enhance the sense of openness throughout the principal living areas.

The Pughs' five-bed, five-bath barn, which also has an annexe, went on sale on Rightmove on September 24

'The annexe has proved particularly versatile, providing comfortable accommodation for family members and guests, whilst retaining a sense of independence with its own garden and parking.

'The separate studio, built during our ownership, has also been invaluable. It currently serves as a studio space but could equally be used as a home office, hobbies room or additional accommodation, subject to any necessary consents.

'Above all…the barn has been a wonderful home for bringing family and friends together and enjoying the best of both countryside living and proximity to Oxford.'

Florence grew up in Oxford, except for a stint in Spain, where she moved aged three to help her childhood asthma and tracheomalacia – a condition of the windpipe.

But the family returned three years later as her health issues improved and Clinton Pugh has run a number of restaurants in Oxford, where he has been an outspoken critic of the city council's low traffic policies.

Florence's climb to A-list fame began with films including Lady Macbeth, Little Women, Black Widow, Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two.

Her most recent project saw her take on the major role of Cathy Ames in the Netflix mini-series East of Eden, adapted from the 1952 John Steinbeck novel of the same name.

Pugh also helped produce the series, which saw critics describe her performance as 'magnificent'.
