Mastantuono: Real Madrid loanee reacts to hat-trick that made Fiorentina history

Franco Mastantuono is ‘honoured’ to have made history with Fiorentina, becoming the youngest player to score a hat-trick in a competitive match with the Tuscans.
The Real Madrid loanee netted three goals in Fiorentina’s 4-2 away win at Venezia on Friday night.
It not only marked Fiorentina’s first win this season and a victory on Paolo Vanoli’s ‘second’ debut as the Tuscans’ coach, but also made Mastantuono, 19, the youngest player to score a hat-trick in a Viola shirt.
“For me, it’s an honour to enter the history of such a prestigious club,” Mastantuono told DAZN via LaViola.
“It was important to get a result today, and we played a great game. I’m happy with the win, aside from the goals.”
No surprise that Mastantuono received the Man of the Match Award from Serie A, but the Real Madrid loanee thought Nicolò Fagioli deserved it too.
“He put in a great performance, like the rest of the team,” the Argentine said.
“I’m really happy with this victory.”
Mastantuono moved to Fiorentina on a dry loan deal from Real Madrid in August. This means the Tuscans have no option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.
Mastantuono joined Real Madrid from River Plate in a €45m deal just one year ago.
The 19-year-old has already matched the number of goals he scored at Real Madrid last season when he netted three times in 35 appearances across all competitions, providing one assist as well.
