CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The Abra de Ilog–Puerto Galera Road remains closed as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continues clearing and road restoration operations following a major rockfall in Sitio Lucotan, Barangay Udalo in the town of Abra de Ilog.

Abra de Ilog is in Occidental Mindoro while Puerto Galera is in Oriental Mindoro.

The affected portion, near Wild Trek Resort, was struck by a huge landslide and continuing rockfall, making the area dangerous for motorists and road workers, according to the Abra de Ilog Emergency Response Operations.

Authorities estimated that it could take several days to a week to clear the road and restore it to a safe condition.
