Cops rescue child from drowning in Ilocos Sur
SAN ILDEFONSO, ILOCOS SUR, Philippines — Tourist police officers and barangay officials rescued a child who nearly drowned while swimming with family members at a beach in Sinait town, police said.
Personnel of the Sinait Tourist Police Assistance Center (TPAC) were conducting police presence at Maldives of Ilocandia in Barangay Dadalaquiten Sur when they heard family members calling for help.
Police said the child, whose age was not immediately disclosed, encountered difficulty while swimming in the shallow waters near the shoreline.

Tourist police officers immediately responded and, with the assistance of barangay officials in the area, brought the child to safety.
Personnel of the Sinait Municipal Police Station then transported the child to the nearest hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
