WNBA playoffs live updates, Wings-Valkyries score: Dallas, Golden State meet for decisive Game 3 with semifinals on the line
The final spot in the WNBA semifinals is up for grabs on Friday night, as the Dallas Wings head back to Golden State to face the Valkyries in a winner-take-all Game 3 on Friday night. The Valkyries dominated the Wings in Game 1 on Sunday, but Dallas fought back at home in Game 2 on Wednesday thanks to a historic performance from Arike Ogunbowale. The veteran guard scored a WNBA playoff record 45 points in an overtime win that saw the normally solid Valkyries looking out of sorts. Can the Wings pull off the upset, or will Golden State prevail at Ballhalla?
The winner of this matchup has a date with the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces in Game 1 of the semifinals on Sunday. On the other side of the bracket, the Atlanta Dream face the New York Liberty.

The Fever began the season with championship aspirations that could have been realized. The team set offensive records in the league's 30th season. Clark and Mitchell finished second and third, respectively, in average scoring behind presumptive fifth-time MVP A'ja Wilson. In a stressful return from soft tissue injuries that limited her to 13 games last year, Clark finished second in assists.
The Fever were at times the best in the league, a team you couldn't count out even if they were down by 20. Other times, it felt as though they couldn't dig out of the mud if it were mostly water. They were too much of a roller coaster ride to trust. Out of the FIFA World Cup break, they took a sharp downward swing from a top-four seed to No. 6 of eight.
But! But! The No. 3 Aces are an advantageous matchup, came the cries of fans holding onto desperate hope. This was meant to be. And honestly, it lined up. Indiana went 2-1 against them in the regular season. The Aces' defense was faulty. Their offense relied too heavily on Wilson, and Aliyah Boston could limit her like few others.
Everyone missed the forest for the trees. And not the ones hounding Mitchell all week in the paint.
