ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here drops first-look teaser for brand-new season

It's that time of the year again, with reality shows dominating the small screen. The Celebrity Traitors, Strictly Come Dancing and Big Brother all are all airing their latest season, and now I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is joining in.

The long-running reality series will be back next month with its 26th season, and we now have the first glimpse of what to expect as ITV has unveiled an amusing teaser involving hosting duo Ant & Dec.

Like last year's teaser trailer, the promotional clip is themed around Christmas, with the reality series said to be "rewriting holiday traditions and signalling the 'official' start of the festive season".

The minute-long teaser sees the hosting duo direct a choir who are singing an I'm a Celebrity-themed version of 'The 12 Days of Christmas', with the lyrics being changed to reference the series.

As the choir sings, they get doused with "12 tubs of offal", "eight vomit smoothies" and "two tonnes of mud". In the final line, we are promised a "new camp of celebrities", but it remains to be seen who'll be entering the jungle.

One name who has been rumoured to appear in the upcoming season is Wayne Rooney, with the former professional footballer reportedly set to follow in the footsteps of his wife Coleen, who took part in the 24th season.

In a report from The Sun on Sunday last month, a source said: "Wayne is in advanced talks for I'm a Celebrity and if they secure him, he'll be their biggest signing in the show's history."

"Coleen proved to be hugely popular when she took part two years ago and bosses think Wayne is going to match her success. ITV have been in negotiations with him for some time and are thrilled that they've reached this stage," they added.

Other famous faces rumoured to be considering a stint in the jungle include Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson and Big Brother host AJ Odudu, though we can expect plenty more speculation in the coming weeks.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
