Brydon Carse won't face charges over Derby nightclub incident

England fast bowler Brydon Carse will not face any charges after Derbyshire Police dropped its investigation into an alleged assault that took place last month.
Footage emerged on social media of Carse in handcuffs, having been arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly after officers were called to Molly Malones in Wardwick, Derby, in the early hours of Sunday, August 23. He was subsequently de-arrested.
The 31-year-old seamer was dropped from England's Test squad for the rest of their series with Pakistan, after which Derbyshire Police confirmed it was looking into allegations of assault. Carse was later omitted from the T20I and ODI squads for the ongoing series against Sri Lanka.

Following enquiries, it was ascertained the alleged victim did not want to make any complaint and so no further action was taken.
A police statement released on Friday read: "An investigation into reports of an assault in Derby city centre has been closed.
"Officers attended Molly Malones in the Wardwick, Derby, in the early hours of Sunday, 23 August.
"A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and was then de-arrested after his details were taken by officers."
Following the conclusion of the police investigation, Carse will now be subject to an investigation from the Cricket Regulator. Cricinfo has approached the ECB for comment.
Carse had been playing for Durham when the incident took place, though was part of the squad for the first two Tests against Pakistan. He is also on a central contract which is due to expire at the end of next summer, on 30 September 2027.
Test captain Joe Root stated he was "hacked off" when addressing the situation ahead of the second Test at Lord's. Last week, limited-overs coach Brendon McCullum stated that Carse needed to "get his house in order", which followed an ECB statement on the seamer's non-selection saying he must "work through the issues that led to the Derby incident and take time for a proper reset".
Carse has been playing for Durham in the County Championship since the incident in Derby, but did not feature in this round's match against Worcestershire with the county he was saying "unwell". He was also not in the team photo as Durham lifted the Division Two trophy on Friday at Chester-le-Street.
