Emmerdale lines up new Joe Tate clash as he confronts Gabby

We know that Gabby is also grieving – not only the loss of Dawn, despite their differences, but also following the death of her uncle Jimmy.
But when she takes the opportunity to try to connect with Joe and empathise with his pain, he reacts with fury…
"Gabby might live to regret trying to show Joe kindness – he's just consumed by rage and spite," explains our Emmerdale insider.
"He doesn't see her actions as coming from the heart and motivated by genuine care. Joe is just irritated that Gabby is even trying to share her grief with him. To him, it's maddening."
Poor Gabby is wounded by Joe's vicious words and is rattled by the depth of his emotions, with his fury now turned on her.

"Gabby hasn't received the full force of Joe's vengeance in comparison, but he certainly wants nothing to do with her," adds our source. "He made it clear that he didn't want to keep living with Gabby when he pressured Kim to evict her from Home Farm – and nothing has changed.
"It's been tough for Gabby to deal with the backlash after being involved with the crash and briefly keeping Vinny's secret – and while Nicola has signalled that she's ready to move on, Joe isn't so understanding…"
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
