Egypt to witness gradual drop in temperatures over next few days

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced a noticeable shift in the weather across Egypt, as the country experiences a gradual drop in temperatures ranging between 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in most areas, starting Friday, and continuing through next Tuesday.

This drop comes after a heatwave that swept the country over the past few days, bringing temperatures back to seasonal averages for this time of year.

Moderate to warm and humid weather will prevail in the early morning, turning hot and humid during the day across the north of the country down to Greater Cairo and North Upper Egypt, while remaining extremely hot in South Upper Egypt.

Maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta are expected to reach around 33°C on Friday, dropping to 32°C on Saturday and Sunday, while in South Upper Egypt, temperatures will decrease from 43°C down to 39°C by the beginning of next week.

Meteorologists warned of dense morning fog forming at times between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM on roads to and from northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, and Central Sinai.

There are also chances of light to occasionally moderate rain over parts of the northern coasts and the northern Nile Delta. Winds will pick up across most areas at speeds between 30 and 40 km/h, helping to cool the atmosphere, with a chance of kicking up sand and dust in parts of the Western Desert.
