Reddit Is Adding ‘For You’ and ‘Following’ Feeds

Reddit is giving users new ways to sift through its billions of posts. The move follows recent platform changes that eliminated RSS feeds and limited access to the site’s classic desktop layout, Old Reddit.
In a blog post published on Wednesday, Reddit says it will introduce For You and Following tabs, similar to those used on TikTok. The new tabs will roll out to Reddit users worldwide over the next few weeks.
The two feeds will work differently. For You is a discovery feed that recommends posts from subreddits you follow, but adds posts the algorithm believes will relate to your interests. The Following tab is made up strictly of posts from subreddits you’ve already joined. Switching between them might give you a choice between a broader view of what’s on Reddit and one made up only of what you’ve curated for yourself as your interests.

The two new feeds, the company said, are part of its experiments to help people “more intentionally explore Reddit.”
User pushback against Reddit’s previous platform changes highlights a growing frustration with the site’s design evolution. These updates target RSS feeds, third-party API access, and Old Reddit availability, features long favored by users seeking alternatives to the default interface.
To keep browsing post archives, external apps must now transition to Reddit’s official developer platform or risk losing access entirely. Reddit reports that it is currently helping migrate roughly 14,000 apps to the new framework.
According to the company, the stricter policies are a necessary response to the rise of AI-driven bot traffic, which has surged dramatically and strained server infrastructure.
