5 Coronation Street spoilers for tonight reveal Jodie's dangerous new plan

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday's episode (14 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Coronation Street, Jodie steps up her attempts to discredit Shona in front of David – creating a fire risk at the Platt house.

Meanwhile, Bethany and Kit's tensions continue, and Tyrone gets on the wrong side of his father Ross.

1. Jodie's next scheme plays out

Shona is still stressed at home as she juggles looking after baby Harper and her other responsibilities. To make matters worse, she's also expected to bake a cake for Lily's upcoming school sale and Jodie claims to be too busy to help.

Dealing with everything alone, Shona accidentally burns the cake and seeks some time out by taking a nap. Sneaking back inside the Platt house, Jodie places the burnt cake back in the oven, determined to cause chaos.

2. Shona questions her own sanity

David and Doug are horrified when they find the kitchen full of smoke, with Shona still asleep on the sofa and Harper upstairs.

Although Shona protests that she turned the oven off, she soon questions herself and expresses fears for her own sanity. Jodie is delighted, as her cruel efforts to make everybody doubt Shona have worked perfectly.

3. Bethany faces another awkward moment with Kit

Kit takes a woman back to the flat, but soon has second thoughts and declares that he's not in the right headspace for a one-night stand.

Bethany interrupts the pair and rebukes Kit for his self-destructive behaviour – but after what happened last week, it may be her own guilt talking!

4. Tension builds between Tyrone and Ross

Tyrone isn't amused when Ross bad-mouths Kevin. Realising that he's messed up, Ross changes the subject by telling a cock and bull story about UFOs.

Later, Tyrone can't resist repeating Ross's story to his mates at the Rovers, which makes Ross a laughing stock. Ross pulls his son to one side, making it clear that he doesn't appreciate looking like a fool...

5. Summer's new love interest arrives

Newcomer Marco compliments Summer at the café when he spots one of her drawings. Once Summer's back is turned, Marco steals the artwork and flees.

Later, Summer is annoyed to find the drawing on display in the window of the tattoo shop.

Show bosses have teased the possibility of a romance for Summer and Marco, so watch this space…
