Asian Games 2026: Prachi Choudhary wins bronze in women’s 400m

India’s Prachi Choudhary won bronze in the women’s 400m final on Saturday, clinching India’s 30th overall medal at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi Nagoya.

Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser, who took gold in the event, broke the Games record en route to a scintillating win where she dominated the field from start to finish.

The 29-year-old Indian runner held off competition from South Korea’s Kim Seoyoon, who finished 0.17s behind her eventually.

This bronze adds to Prachi’s silver in the women’s 4x400m relay in the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023.

The other Indian in the fray, Kiran Pahal, finished fifth with a time of 53.41s.
