House lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro has apologized for the viral, wacky photos of prosecution members taken at the Senate Session Hall after Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial went on recess.

Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian had taken issue with photos of people doing wacky poses in the session hall.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Luistro said that the lawyers meant no disrespect.

The House lawmaker said that the prosecution panel had no intention of turning the Senate into a joke, adding that they had the utmost respect for the Senate and the senators.

Luistro explained that the prosecution panel was simply happy when the photo was taken because they could take a break after months of impeachment hearings.

Gatchalian said that he has already asked the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms to look into the circulating wacky photos.
