Reports from multiple outlets in Italy indicate that Inter are set to reward versatile defender Carlos Augusto with a new and improved contract after coming up with six goal involvements in his last seven appearances for the Nerazzurri.
Carlos Augusto set to pen new Inter deal
It has been an enjoyable start to the 2026-27 season on an individual level for the Brazilian, who has scored four goals and provided four assists from seven matches across Serie A and the Champions League at the start of the new campaign.

He scored the crucial goal to send the 10-man Nerazzurri towards a much-needed 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in Europe on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old is currently under contract until the summer of 2028, but reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport and various other outlets in Italy claim that he is set to be handed a new and improved deal that will expire in the summer of 2031.
The Pink Paper expects an agreement to be wrapped up by the end of the month and claims that it will be a ‘maximum’ of 15 days before Carlos Augusto signs his new deal.

Carlos Augusto has largely served as an understudy since joining Inter from Monza in 2023, rotating with Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco both on the left of the back three and at left wing-back.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that after his impressive start to the 2026-27 season, it will be difficult for the Nerazzurri to keep the Brazilian as a rotation option for much longer.
