Ms. Rachel pledges $1 million to Gaza children charity, matching Macklemore donation

Ms. Rachel, whose given name is Rachel Accurso, has been a vocal activist for Gazan children since the outset of the Israel-Hamas war and has held several fundraisers to aid the people in Gaza. 

Children's entertainer Ms. Rachel said on Thursday that she would donate $1 million to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) to match singer Macklemore's donation of the same amount, which represented his total net earnings from the Ed Sheeran Loop Tour.

She also urged "every wealthy white celebrity" to do the same.

Macklemore's donation was split among several organizations, including the PCRF, HEAL Palestine, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for Palestinians, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, and Anera.

Macklemore, who has long supported Palestinian causes, was cut from British pop star Sheeran's musical lineup over remarks on stage criticizing Israel's military assault in Gaza, which was launched after Hamas-led terrorists infiltrated Israel and carried out a massacre in October 2023.

Sheeran said he couldn't keep Macklemore on the tour after stadium owners refused to let him appear. US billionaire Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, where his New England Patriots football team plays, said he had barred Macklemore from appearing there for antisemitism, which the rapper denies.

Ms. Rachel, whose given name is Rachel Accurso, has been a vocal activist for Gazan children since the outset of the Israel-Hamas war and has held several fundraisers to aid the people in Gaza.

She caused a considerable media stir in May 2024, when she announced that she was creating a fundraiser to benefit children in conflict areas, including Gaza.

“The idea is, I’ll make videos for little ones, and all the money raised on my end will go to Save the Children’s emergency fund, which will go to children living in conflict in Gaza, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine,” she said in the video announcement.

In January 2026, she was accused of antisemitism after she appeared to entertain an antisemitic comment on an Instagram post of hers, explaining why she liked an antisemitic comment on her account. 

The original comment was left on one of her posts and read "free America from the Jews." It has since been deleted, and Accurso said she had intended to delete it but “accidentally hit like and hide.”

On her apology post, an account named 'thepalestinenewsnetwerk' wrote, "Spoiler alert: They left the comment themselves."

"Ooooooooooohhhhh," Accurso responded.
