PKR should use own logo again, starting with Melaka polls

A Selangor PKR delegate today suggested that the time has come for the party to use its own logo again for upcoming polls, starting with the Melaka state election.
Ahmad Danish Hairudin said Pakatan Harapan defeated Umno and Barisan Nasional in the 2018 general election (GE14) using PKR’s logo.
“This PKR flag once carried the voice of the Malaysian majority, toppling the arrogance and pride of Umno-BN for the first time at the federal level in 2018.
“It is time for us to return to using PKR’s strength and identity to move forward,” Danish said while debating the party president’s keynote speech at the PKR National Congress here.
PH’s component parties in Peninsular Malaysia used the PKR logo in GE14, while their chapters in Sabah and Sarawak used their own logos. This was because PH had not yet received approval to register as a formal coalition at that time.
The next Melaka state election is due by February 2027 at the latest, but chief minister Ab Rauf Yusoh reportedly said it could be held as early as September.
Danish, who is PKR Youth’s information chief, also said the party does not need to review its political ties with BN, but should instead chart its own political course.
He said the party’s grassroots wanted its president, Anwar Ibrahim, and the party leadership to make clear political decisions in the interests of PKR and its grassroots members.
He added that PKR should not be so preoccupied with pleasing others that it neglects its own interests.
“Therefore, let the PKR national congress send a clear message: to those who are loyal to us, we appreciate you; to those who are our friends, we respect you; to those who attack us, we will fight back.
