Former Juventus defender Nicolo Savona was given a special welcome back onto the pitch by his Nottingham Forest teammates on Tuesday as he returned to training on the grass for the first time since suffering a major knee injury that has kept him out of action since January.
Savona joined Nottingham Forest in a €15.5m deal from Juventus last summer and went on to become a first-team regular for the Premier League outfit. His 2025-26 season was cut short by a knee issue that required surgery earlier this year.

His last appearance for Forest came in a 1-0 Europa League defeat against Braga back in January.
The 23-year-old has now returned to training on the grass, as Nottingham Forest have confirmed in a video on their social media channels on Tuesday afternoon.
The Juventus academy product was welcomed back by his teammates and coaching staff as they trained at the City Groundby making him run through a gauntlet before giving him a round of applause.
