Akwa Ibom gov names five new aides

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has approved the appointment of five new aides to coordinate youth, women, senior citizens and grassroots mobilisation across the state.
The appointments were contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, on Tuesday.
Those appointed are Mrs Mercy Eka, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Senior Citizens Mobilisation; Ms Blessing Ossom, Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilisation; Obongama Jimmy, Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation; Dr (Mrs) Alice Etuk, Senior Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation; and Smart Samuel Usanga, Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation.

According to the statement, the appointments take effect from September 1, 2026.
The state government congratulated the appointees and wished them success in their new roles.
The appointments are expected to strengthen the administration’s engagement with key groups, including youths, women, senior citizens and grassroots communities across the state.
