Pakistan Coaching Staff Hit By Major Exit As Ashley Noffke Takes Over Netherlands

Former Australia international Ashley Noffke has left his role as bowling coach of Pakistan's cricket team to take over as Netherlands head coach. Noffke has signed a two-year contract, the Netherlands said Wednesday, and is tasked with qualifying the team for next year's 50-over World Cup and the T20 World Cup in 2028. "This is a talented, motivated group," Noffke said, "and my goal is to continue that development and take the program further. My approach starts with connection, before the tactics or the plan. I can't wait to get started."

The 49-year-old Noffke has been with Pakistan since 2025 as an assistant coach and head bowling coach, having previously coached in England, his native Australia and New Zealand.

He played T20 and ODI cricket for Australia, as well as for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

Noffke replaces Ryan Cook, who stepped back to spend more time with his family.

The Dutch have qualified for the last six T20 World Cups, but only one 50-over World Cup since 2011.
