Man arrested in Bukidnon over killing of 20-year-old
MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — A man with an alleged domestic problem with his live-in partner killed another person for no apparent reason in Zone 1, Barangay Kalasungay here on Sunday evening, police said.
Lt. Col. Joepet Paglinawan, Malaybalay police chief, said they arrested the 28-year-old suspect hours after he punched and stabbed the victim who was just buying dinner at a store at around 7:40 p.m.

With the help of Barangay Public Safety Officers, police launched a hot pursuit operation and arrested the suspect at his residence, where his mother surrendered the knife used in the crime, the official said.

The suspect, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, stabbed the victim at the back and left arm.
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personnel rushed the victim to Bethel Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.The suspect was positively identified by a witness.
Investigators believe the suspect’s anger may have triggered the attack due to domestic trouble with his live-in partner.
He is now in police custody facing appropriate charges. /jpv
