Kranti Gaud fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct during Asia Cup 2026 Final

India pacer Kranti Gaud was fined 10 per cent match fee and handed a demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the Women’s Asia Cup Final against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

ICC said in a statement that Kranti was charged for breaching Article 2.5 of the ‘ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel’. The section relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage, or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

The 23-year-old, for whom this was the first offence in a 24-month cycle, admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by the match referee Supriya Rani Das.

The incident which led to the reprimand occurred in the first over of Sri Lanka’s innings, when after dismissing opener Imesha Dulani, Gaud gestured in the direction of the pavilion.

ICC also added in the statement that Pakistan was fined five per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate in the semifinal against Sri Lanka on Friday.
