Peter Crouch fangirled over Mick Jagger as he caught a selfie with the Rolling Stones legend in the private box at Saturday night's England game.

The footballer, who played for England between 2005 and 2010, couldn't wipe the smile off his face next to the musician, 83, in the Instagram snap.

It was a full circle moment for Peter who watched the game with his children 26 years after he last played for his country. 

Peter, 45, and his sons Johnny, eight, and Jack, seven, watched England narrowly lose a thrilling tussle with Spain on Saturday.

He wrote: 'Thank you so much for having us @england Boys had the time of their lives. So did their Dad'.

Mick kept a low profile in a black jacket and baseball cap as he enjoyed a day out at Wembley.

Peter and his model wife Abbey Clancy, 40, are also parents to two daughters Sophia Ruby, 15, and Liberty Rose, 11.

Last month, the couple, who married in 2011, said they would 'love' to add to their brood but fear they are 'too old' for another child.

Abbey said she would have to get pregnant 'straight away' if they wanted a fifth child due to her age, before Peter quipped 'we could be grandparents soon.'

Sienna Miller and Vogue Williams are among the stars who have welcomed children in their forties.

Speaking on their podcast The Therapy Crouch, Abbey admitted: 'We're suckers for the old kids malarky, we love it don't we? 

'I really want another baby but you won't let me. I'm too old but I'd love a newborn...'

Peter interjected: 'We'll be grandparents soon!'

Abbey added: 'My mum had my sister when she was 40, I would have to get pregnant straight away and then I'd be about 43 by the time it was born.'

In a previous episode, Abbey reflected on how many women are being seen as 'invisible' at 40 and said 'men age so much better.' 

Abbey said: 'My friend Liberty is coming on and she's 54 and I'm 40 and we were talking about how you become invisible at 40. 

'You know, for a lot of people, they do feel a bit overlooked and can lose confidence.

'We're still alive and still want to be romanced and have fun and live life to the full. So that's actually a good thing to help the older generation, to find love and live out the last few years they've got on this earth.'

Abbey continued: 'But men age so much better than women.

'You don't go to a man, "oh my God, he's so wrinkly". You know, society says that about women. Why aren't we allowed to have wrinkles on our face?'

Then turning to Pete, she said: ''I can't believe I'm going to have a 50 year old husband soon. Four years.'

'Er five years,' he retorted.  

On the couple's previous podcast, Abbey got 'trollied' and admitted that she was 'absolutely p****d' during a wine tasting with Pete.

The model, and the ex footballer were filming a special episode of their hugely-popular The Therapy Crouch podcast where Abbey's friend Liberty put the pair through their paces with the tasting.

Abbey progressively got drunker as the session went on after refusing to spit out any of the wines after tasting them – before losing it over a crude joke.

At one point as Liberty attempted to introduce another wine, Abbey interjected and said: 'I'm absolutely p****d!' to which Peter then jokes: 'This wine tasting has taken a turn!'
