Anthropic prepares to file IPO prospectus as early as Friday - report

Anthropic (ANTHRO) could publicly file its S-1 investor prospectus as early as Friday, October 23, Yahoo Finance reported, citing three people familiar with the plans.
The filing would give investors a closer look at the Claude developer’s rapid revenue growth, customer concentration, mounting computing costs, and AI-related risks.
Anthropic (ANTHRO) did not immediately respond to Seeking Alpha's request for comment.
Anthropic (ANTHRO) confidentially filed a draft IPO registration statement with the SEC in June. It must publicly disclose the filing at least 15 days before its investor roadshow, with IPO timing subject to market conditions.
Anthropic (ANTHRO) generated $16.3B in first-half 2026 revenue, up from $1.1B a year earlier, while reporting an $80.7B net loss, including $72B in non-cash accounting adjustments tied to convertible notes and other financing instruments, a draft version of its S-1 filing showed.
The company reportedly told investors last week that Q3 revenue rose to $16.8B from $11.5B in Q2 and that it was profitable on an adjusted basis.
Two customers accounted for about 20% of Anthropic’s (ANTHRO) first-half revenue. The company spent nearly $9B on computing capacity and infrastructure during the period, exceeding the $7.3B it spent during all of 2025. Its computing arrangements include partnerships with Google (GOOGL) and Amazon (AMZN), as well as rented GPU capacity at SpaceX’s (SPCX) Colossus 1 data center.
Anthropic’s potential IPO could raise as much as $100B at a previously reported $2T valuation, but some investors are now discussing a lower valuation of about $1.5T amid concerns over revenue growth and the cost of AI development.
