Police Arrest Eight Suspects in Kasarani Gang Crackdown

Translate

NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 29 – Eight suspects are in police custody following a security operation targeting a suspected criminal gang accused of carrying out attacks and robberies in Mirema Springs, Kasarani.

The National Police Service says officers from Kasarani Sub-County conducted the intelligence-led operation on October 28, following numerous reports of gang-related incidents in the area.

According to the police, the suspects are accused of belonging to a network whose members allegedly use crude weapons to maim and rob residents.

A collection of crude weapons was recovered during the operation and booked as exhibits at Kasarani Police Station.

The suspects remain in custody as they await arraignment in court.

The police say the operation is part of broader efforts to dismantle criminal networks and enhance security, maintaining that gang organisations have no place anywhere in the country.
