Kartik Aaryan To Star In ‘Ladaku’ With Kabir Khan Directing; Worldwide Release Date Set For 2027

Kartik Aaryan is to lead Ladaku, a “heart-tugging, inspiring” move from Kabul Express director Kabir Khan.

Birla Studios is leading on production ahead of a June 18, 2027, worldwide theatrical release, with Kabir Khan Entertainment also attached. Aaryan will also make his debut as a producer through his Dopamine Studios, which he launched earlier this year.

Plot details are scarce at this stage, though producers say it will be “another emotional, heartwarming, family-entertainer” in the vein of Khan films such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan and 83, which follow lead characters battling the odds and overcoming them through sheer willpower.

Birla Studios, which is led by Ananya Birla, added it would be a story of “ambition, grit and hope.”

Aaryan and Khan previously worked together on Chandu Champion, which was about India‘s first Paralympics gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar.

Aaryan played the lead role there and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 2024. His highest grossing pics are 2022’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and its sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
