Parked passenger boat sinks in waters off Calayan town in Cagayan
TUGUEGARAO CITY – A passenger boat that was moored near Calayan town in Cagayan province was sunk by strong waves on Wednesday (Sept. 2) but no one was hurt.
A worker at the boat, who tried to save his belongings, is safe, said Jeo Robert Arirao, a rescue officer of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, in an interview.

The boat, M/B Lance, was not ferrying passengers due to the prevailing monsoon rains and the threat of Typhoon Pilandok. It had been secured at the shoreline of Barangay Magsidel at Calayan town when the waves filled the boat with water.
