Poco Lee’s alleged release sparks confusion as UK trial remains active

The sexual offence case involving dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, remains active in the United Kingdom, even as a new video appears to show him out of custody.

Social media personality, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, on Saturday shared a video on his social media page showing Poco Lee eating, with afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, also seen in the background.

In the video, Poco Lee is seen eating while a voice behind the camera says, “You said it’s your first jollof. Enjoy.”

Burna Boy could also be seen grinning as he looked towards Poco Lee.

VeryDarkMan captioned the video, “Proof of life, Poco Lee first video since he came out. Big up, Burna Boy…”

The development comes amid reports that Poco Lee had been released from custody in the UK.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed to PUNCH Online on Saturday that his plea and trial preparation hearing remains scheduled for September 15, 2026.

The reported release has sparked confusion online, with some social media users claiming that the woman who accused him had withdrawn the allegations.

There were also claims that Burna Boy had offered the woman a large sum of money to withdraw the allegations.

However, the claims could not be independently verified by Sunday Scoop, while the CPS maintained that the case remained live and that Poco Lee was still expected to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15.

The conflicting reports have since left social media users questioning the circumstances surrounding Poco Lee’s reported release and the current status of the case.

Poco Lee’s case had earlier generated attention after reports emerged that he was being held in the UK over alleged sexual offences.

While the circumstances surrounding his reported release remain unclear, the CPS confirmation indicates that the legal proceedings involving the entertainer are still ongoing.
