Maeve Communications Launches New York-Based Communications Company (EXCLUSIVE)

Maeve Communications, co-founded by industry veterans Laura Puig and Michelle Ciciyasvili, announced Monday the launch of its new publicity and strategic communications company.

The New York-based company will focus on entertainment, media and talent services offering project-based consultation and executive coaching services.

“The conversation to start our own company began in 2019 while working together briefly at a PR agency, but we knew we needed more experience before confidently building something of our own,” co-founders Puig and Ciciyasvili said in a joint statement. “The time for Maeve Communications is now. In merging our complementary backgrounds and experience, we’re ready and eager to partner with our clients and deliver thoughtful strategy, creative ideas, and the straightforward counsel they deserve. We take our work seriously but believe in having some fun, keeping things real and breaking a few rules along the way.”

Puig recently left Tubi to launch her own publicity and strategic communications company with business partner Ciciyasvili, who was most recently the senior director of comms at Betches. Puig is an experienced publicist with a history of clients across television, film, talent, creator and entertainment industries. Throughout her 13 years of experience, she has developed long-standing press relationships, and garnered media hits across broadcast, print, online, podcast, digital and radio.

Michelle Ciciyasvili is a communications leader with 15 years of public relations experience across media, entertainment, lifestyle and fashion brands. She blends creative storytelling and strategic thinking with her knowledge of how entertainment, media and culture intersect with business.

Maeve is inspired by Hollywood legend Mae West who was an American actress, singer, comedian, screenwriter and playwright in the 1930s. The founders said West serves as a symbol of the company’s “no-nonsense approach” when providing direct, senior-level counsel on the basis of honest and targeted conversations for each client.
