調查發現學童近視比率隨年齡增加

香港執業眼科視光師協會的調查發現,學童近視比率隨年齡增加,接受協會視力篩查的6歲學童中,有兩成四人近視,到12歲達六成四近視。

協會去年11月至今年5月,到8間小學為超過3500名小學生進行視力篩查。協會指出,嬰兒出生時眼球相對較短,處於遠視狀態,隨年齡漸長,眼球會拉長,遠視儲備會逐步減少,亦即是「正視化」過程。

調查留意到,有六成七的6歲學童,遠視儲備不足,估算兩年後,或有六成六的8歲學童出現近視。

協會建議家長由兒童3歲起,安排他們定期接受全面眼睛檢查,及早發現視力有無問題;並增加子女每日戶外活動時間,改善使用電子屏幕的距離等。
