TUMPAT, Oct 18 — Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) officer Norhazwani Ibrahim, 35, who was found dead at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) quarters in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, on Thursday, was described as a hardworking and dedicated officer.
AKPS Deputy Director-General (Operations) SAC Datuk Mohd Nasaruddin M. Nasir said Norhazwani, who joined the agency on July 1 after transferring from the Customs Department, had performed well and was committed to her duties.
“From the work perspective, she had no problems. She was a very good officer, hardworking and committed to her duties,” he told reporters at Norhazwani’s family residence in Kampung Banjir, Telaga Lanas, Pengkalan Kubor, here last night.
He said Norhazwani frequently worked overtime and had two children who still required attention and family support.
Mohd Nasaruddin said AKPS had received no information about any problems Norhazwani might have been facing before the incident.
He said AKPS Kelantan personnel, including those stationed in Rantau Panjang and Pengkalan Kubor, had contributed financial assistance to the family, while the agency would consider further welfare support, including death benefits and counselling.
On Thursday, Norhazwani Ibrahim was found dead at the KLIA quarters, and a suspect surrendered to the police later that night. — Bernama
