New Asia Forum targets US$30 billion investment in its inaugural event

Jakarta (ANTARA) - New Asia Forum, a global platform aimed at mobilizing institutional capital and forging cross-border economic ties, will debut in Bali on December 3-4, 2026, targeting US$30 billion in investment commitments.
Powered by Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia and global advisory firm Richard Attias & Associates, the forum aims to tighten Asia’s role as the primary engine of global economic expansion.
"The New Asia Forum is engineered to connect long-term global capital with fast-growing investment opportunities emerging in Indonesia and across the region," Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani said in an official statement released here on Sunday (Oct 11).
Danantara Indonesia is inviting various global partners to unlock the potentials and co-create a sustainable long-term investment value.
"Backed by President Prabowo Subianto, this initiative reflects Indonesia’s proactive engagement on the global stage anchored in confidence, ambition, and a spirit of collaboration," Roeslani said.

Richard Attias, founder and chairman of Richard Attias & Associates, noted the global economic narrative is fundamentally shifting away from treating Asia merely as a global investment recipient.
"New Asia is no longer just attracting capital; it is increasingly creating, directing, and dictating where capital can deliver the greatest impact. We are entering one of the most critical investment cycles of our generation, and Asia stands at its center," Attias said.
The forum takes place amid a broader global pivot toward Asia, driven by technological advances, increased investment, and deepening regional trade integration.
It will bring together long-term investors, business leaders, and policymakers to unlock concrete investment opportunities.
According to 2025 International Monetary Fund (IMF) data, the Asia-Pacific region generated nearly 60 percent of global economic growth. However, this output has yet to be fully matched by sustained foreign direct investment inflows.

The forum aims to bridge this structural gap by matching regional investment windows with global capital sources. Conceived as a transaction-focused platform rather than a conventional talk shop, the forum will prioritize actionable deals and project execution.
The targeted US$30 billion pipeline will span eight strategic pillars, they are natural resources and downstreaming, energy transition and electrical power, advanced mobility and manufacturing, digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence, food and agribusiness, trade and connectivity, tourism and creative economy, as well as education and human capital development.
Discussions in the forum will center on key investment enablers, such as project readiness, regulatory certainty, financing structures, and strategic partnerships.
The platform will also feature a tracking mechanism to monitor pledged investment implementation between annual editions, ensuring institutional accountability and accelerated delivery.
