LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu—Thailand has inched closer to the Philippines’ Miss Asia Pacific International record by claiming its fourth victory in the global pageant at the competition held Saturday night.

Sasiwararin Atsawahirankarn bested 37 other aspirants at the culmination of the grand coronation night held at the Mactan Expo in Lapu-Lapu City and inherited the crown from last year’s winner, Isabela Fernandes of Brazil.

Now with four victories, Thailand is just a crown away from the Philippines’ five-win haul in the pageant’s various iterations in its 58-year history.
