KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 — A 69-year-old man was injured in the shoulder after he was allegedly attacked with a knife by a 13-year-old boy at a public toilet in Kanowit, Sarawak, yesterday.

Sinar Harian reported Kanowit district police chief DSP Junical Ujal as saying police received a report of the incident at 3.29pm.

“According to the call, a 13-year-old boy was reported to have injured a man using a knife.

“The victim is now receiving treatment at Kanowit Hospital and is reported to have suffered minor injuries to his left shoulder,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.

Junical said the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.

He said police are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the full cause of the incident and gather related evidence.

He also urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information about the case, out of respect for the investigation process and the interests of all parties involved.

Earlier, a claim went viral on social media alleging that a toilet attendant had been attacked by a teenage boy with a sharp object at a public toilet in the district.
