‘Young Guns’ Cast Reunites At Fan Event

Alas, Jack Palance was off in heaven doing one-armed pushups, but just about every other star from the landmark gathering of late ’80s young actors known as Young Guns was in Dallas this weekend for a Fan Expo.

Lou Diamond Phillips posted a photo of himself and fellow castmembers Casey Siemaszko, Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen and Dermot Mulroney with the exclamation, “F’ing Epic!”

Mulroney posted another snapshot of the aforementioned crew with Terry O’Quinn, who went on to fame as John Locke on Lost after he played Alexander McSween in the 1998 film.

Reunions of the original main cast have been rare over the years, especially since many of them went on to A-list careers in their own right.

Last year, Estevez announced another potential reunion: Young Guns 3. The actor appeared alongside New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in January 2025 and announced he would direct Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive in New Mexico, where the original film and its sequel were shot.

The project was listed in pre-production, with Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater set to co-star. Estevez and John Fusco were cited as writers on the release by the state’s film office, with original producer Morgan Creek also on board.

Not much has been heard of the project since then though Estevez, now in his 60s, joked at the press conference that he had heard another title suggested for the long-gestating project: Old Guns.
