Emmerdale reveals creepy Kim Tate cliffhanger ahead of Halloween week

Translate

Halloween may not be taking place until next weekend, but there was a creepy cliffhanger on Emmerdale tonight (25 October) as Kim Tate found herself in the middle of a terrifying situation.

It's been a busy time for the Tates, with the tragic death of Dawn Fletcher having a terrible effect on Joe, who was set to marry her. Before Dawn passed away, she gave birth, but Joe wanted nothing to do with the child.

Consumed by grief, he tried to set up an off-the-book adoption, though Kim asked Graham Foster to help raise the child in secret. Over time, Joe has come to change his mind, and is planning to step up as a father.

Sunday's episode began with Graham watching over the baby, before he headed off for a shower. Unbeknownst to him, a hooded figure was lurking outside the cottage, and attempted to force their way inside.

Joe, meanwhile, was still full of rage after he smashed a plate, which was a treasured item of Dawn's. Kim consoled him by saying that processing grief would always take some time, but she soon had to check her phone as she got a couple of calls.

Graham, the person who was calling her, promptly arrived and delivered some devastating news. He shared that the baby had "been taken", with Kim reading a note that read: "Baby is safe. No police. Await further instructions."

Kim ordered Graham to return to the cottage, though she said that it wasn't the best time to tell Joe. She came up with a plan to keep their names in the clear, and surprised Joe with a pre-booked trip to Monaco.

Joe graciously accepted her offer and said that he was "lucky to have [her]", but Kim soon got back to work as she attempted to find the baby. She had to speak to DS Thea Ramsden, who said that the Tate estate was being targeted.

After declining a call from Lydia, Kim told Thea - who, unbeknownst to her, is her long-lost daughter - about the whole situation involving the baby. Thea said the police should be involved, but Kim wanted things handled in more unofficial fashion.

Kim later called Graham, and noticed a toy that belonged to Thomas. She then spotted that the toy had moved, and she began to suspect that somebody else was in Home Farm. Her fears are ultimately correct, as a hooded figure was seen entering the house.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
