Latin music revenue in the U.S. reached $542.2 million in the first half of 2026, up 8.6% from the same period last year, according to the latest report from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). That growth outpaced the overall U.S. recorded music market, which rose 6.9% during the same period.

The results mark Latin music’s 13th consecutive mid-year gain. The genre represented 9.1% of total U.S. recorded music revenue in the first half of the year, up from 8.8% at mid-year 2025. Streaming continued to drive consumption, accounting for 96% of Latin music revenue. Revenue from paid subscriptions grew 12.4% to $308.4 million, representing 56.9% of the genre’s total revenue.

Physical formats also posted bigger gains, with earnings more than tripling — rising 232.2% to $14 million. Vinyl accounted for nearly all of that total, rising 245.8% to $13.7 million, as fans continued to embrace the format. Synchronization revenue more than doubled, increasing 104.2% to $3.3 million from placements in film, TV, advertising, video games and other audiovisual productions.

“Latin music keeps raising the bar as more fans connect with the artists they love and discover new favorites,” Rafael Fernandez Jr. ,RIAA senior vp of state public policy and Latin music, said in a statement. “Whether your first experience is an iconic performance like Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl or Shakira & Burna Boy’s World Cup anthem, a shared playlist or passed through a friend’s vinyl collection, there are more ways than ever to uncover and enjoy Latin music.”

Bad Bunny’s multi-Emmy-winning Super Bowl LX halftime show — the first in NFL history performed almost entirely in Spanish — and Shakira and Burna Boy’s 2026 FIFA World Cup hit, “Dai Dai,” offered high-profile examples of Latin music’s expanding reach in the U.S. “Dai Dai” became the first World Cup song to top both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts.
