Coronation Street and Emmerdale set for Sunday episodes amid scheduling chaos

Coronation Street and Emmerdale face more disruption to their schedules this year on ITV1. Several major sporting events – such as the FIFA World Cup – have seen soaps juggled around on the schedule in the last few months.

Next week is set to see more of the same due to coverage of the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, 6 October, from 7pm until past 10pm.

The schedule remains as normal on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Emmerdale airing at 8pm on ITV1 and Coronation Street at 8.30pm.

However, there will be additional episodes of both soaps on Sunday, October 11, both airing at their usual times. This follows disruption experienced this week, with no episodes of Corrie or Emmerdale on Tuesday, September 29, due to football coverage.

They both returned to their normal slots last night (September 30), continuing some explosive storylines.

Next week in Corrie, we can expect a shock shooting incident at the Platt house as Jodie Ramsey's disturbing storyline finally comes to a head with a showdown with Shona Platt, leaving one person fighting for their life.

Meanwhile, in Emmerdale, Charity's fate is revealed after she was imprisoned for the murder of Dr Todd, and Sarah Sugden has a huge decision to make about her future.

The drama surrounding the build-up to Jimmy King's funeral continues to rage on, and Gabby Thomas suffers a shock collapse.
