‘Reacher’ Spinoff ‘Neagley’ Renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video
Prime Video‘s Reacher is officially a franchise: Spinoff Neagley is getting a second season.
The action series starring Maria Sten as the tough and standoffish Frances Neagley will return with more episodes.
The debut season launched with all eight episodes on Sept. 16. Neagley reached 40 million viewers globally in its first 13 days and ranked as the fourth most-viewed series debut of any original in the streamer’s history.
Neagley is based on the character in novels by Lee Child and follows a private investigator in Chicago who is the former military protégé of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. In the first season, Neagley learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident and she becomes hell-bent on justice.
The ensemble cast features Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman, with Ritchson guest starring as Reacher.
“Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own,” said Peter Friedlander, head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and [co-showrunners] Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling.”
Flagship series Reacher starring Ritchson, which just wrapped its season four run on Sept. 16, is in production on season five and has already picked up an early renewal for season six.
