Woman wanted for child abuse in Cavite arrested in Mindoro


CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A woman with an arrest warrant for child abuse in Cavite was apprehended in Barangay Maligaya, Gloria, Oriental Mindoro, on Sept. 19.
The 24-year-old woman, a resident of Barangay Buong Lupa, Gloria, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Family Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 5, Trece Martires City, Cavite, for alleged violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. Recommended bail for the case is P80,000.

The suspect is currently in the custody of Gloria Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and turnover to the issuing court.

Police said the operation was carried out by the Gloria Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Oriental Mindoro, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Special Action Force units, and other intelligence and maritime police units across the province and region.
Police Regional Office Mimaropa Regional Director Brig. Gen. Christopher Dela Cruz commended the operating teams for the successful apprehension, stressing that law enforcement efforts transcend provincial boundaries.
“Through sustained coordination and intelligence-driven operations, we will continue to locate wanted individuals and ensure that they face the appropriate legal proceedings,” Dela Cruz said. /mcm
