Translate

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Tema Region has replaced14 faulty transformers in its operational area.

The replacements, carried out from 28th October to 1st November 2026, involved 100kVA to 200kVA transformers that had developed faults and were affecting customers' electricity supply.

The exercise supported the High and Medium Voltage networks operated by the Region.

The Tema Region operates with nine Districts. The replacement exercise covered six districts: Krobo, Ada, Prampram, Afienya, Tema North, and Nungua.

Commenting on the exercise, the Tema Regional General Manager, Jonathan K. Adjabeng, said: "We have had challenges with supply due to faulty transformers, some of which became faulty due to technical challenges and illegal connections."

He added, "The Region takes its mandate of supplying safe, reliable and quality electricity seriously, and we are committed to that."

Ing. Adjabeng further stated that "however, our commitment to our duty is sometimes hindered by issues beyond our control, yet our commitment to resolve issues and surmount challenges remains paramount to us."
