Emmerdale first look as Kim makes huge announcement at The Woolpack

Emmerdale has revealed a first look at the moment next week when Kim Tate formally introduces the village to Thea Ramsden as her daughter.

Kim only learned the truth recently, after having had Thea adopted at birth, with Thea tracking down her mum all these years later initially in an attempt to get revenge for abandoning her.

After inviting a hesitant Thea to spend time together, Kim struggles to discuss the true nature of their relationship when they bump into Mary Goskirk, leaving Thea hurt.

Finding support in the unlikeliest of places, Kim is supported by on-off enemy Charity Dingle, who offers some sound advice, likening Kim's predicament to the one she experienced upon being reunited with her own son Ryan Stocks.

In scenes airing Wednesday (11 November), Thea and Kim reconnect at The Woolpack, with Charity also having offered Thea some advice on how to deal with the situation.

Admitting that being reunited with her daughter is more than she "ever dared dream of" and promising not to mess up, Kim is shocked when Thea suggests that Kim wants to keep their relationship "behind closed doors".

This leads Kim to stand up, and after publicly thanking Charity for her involvement in the situation, she orders two glasses of wine for herself and her daughter, letting the entire pub know that she's Thea's mum.

Thea's left emotional, with Kim declaring that, when it comes to her family, she definitely doesn't do things by halves.

While mother and daughter are more bonded than they've ever been, further spoilers reveal that not everybody in the Tate clan is as enthusiastic to welcome Thea into the fold.

Suspicious as ever, Joe Tate suggests to Graham Foster that they keep a close eye on the newcomer.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
