Umno wants action against those defying King's order on Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno has demanded the immediate implementation of Datuk Seri Najib Razak's house arrest and stern legal action against anyone who defies the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's order.

Its secretary-general, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, said the party welcomed Sultan Ibrahim's firm decree on the implementation of the Pardons Board's decision allowing Najib to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.

"Umno demands that the Pardons Board's decision be implemented immediately and that those who defy the order face stern action under the law," he said in a statement today.

Asyraf said the King's decree made clear that all conditions of the conditional pardon had been fulfilled, including payment of the RM50 million fine.
